Mitch Brown, CTO

An adventure seeker at heart, Mitch always enjoys a challenge. So, whether in the office or navigating the depths of the Canadian wilderness, he is prepared to meet every situation head on.
Mitch brings the same full-throttle attitude to his role as chief technology officer for Works Computing. He continually focuses on the big picture – turning new products, technologies and trends into successful customer-centric solutions. And, his 30 years in the IT industry, combined with the ability to envision what practical and effective solutions look like, provides customers with an honest and balanced approach to their challenges.
After U.S. Air Force avionics training, and a Control Data Institute computing degree, Mitch began his IT journey as a field service disk and tape specialist for Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC). He then moved into technical sales support, which helped him become one of the original team members for DEC’s Storageworks division. In this role, Mitch helped grow Storageworks’ product set into one of the most significant hardware platforms in computing history. It was this wealth of IT experience that Mitch leveraged to become co-owner of Works Computing in 1997.
Outside the office, Mitch has a number of hobbies including lifelong passions in motorcycling, shooting and photography, as well as new interests in diving, flying and high-performance cars. He is just as active around the house, where he and his wife Lisa enjoy participating in the activities and lives of their five children.
